Romanian Point is not a bobbin lace, but rather a type of needle lace. It begins with a crocheted cord which is tacked down onto the pattern, then this cord is connected with a needle and thread to make various types of fillings. I was able to learn how to crochet the cord by watching some videos on YouTube. The patterns I have made were designed by Sylvia Murariu.
This butterfly was the first project I made – a great introduction to Romanian Point lace.
