This is a picture of the very first Milanese piece I tried to make, back in 1999. This was actually the first lace I ever made without the help from a teacher, and never had a lesson in Milanese Lace. All I had was a picture of the finished lace, so I fumbled my way through.
In May 2002, I took a three day course in Newberg, OR with Louise Colgan and made this Milanese heart.
Later I took another class with Louise Colgan and made this butterfly.
I enjoyed making Milanese Lace so much that I continued by working through some of the lessons in the book by Sandi Woods, Special Effects in Bobbin Lace.
In April 2007, in preparation for another class with Louise Colgan, I made this hummingbird following the lessons on her DVD. I wanted to make something quick as a refresher before the class.
This Iris was made in 2012 after yet another class with Louise Colgan.
My most recent piece made in March 2014 is this teapot, a Louise Colgan pattern.
